Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

About these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Vet in a Van's services and website. By registering with us or using our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Vet in a Van is a mobile veterinary service owned and operated by Katie Williams MRCVS, registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Our services

Vet in a Van provides mobile veterinary services in South Wales and West England. Our services include but are not limited to consultations, vaccinations, diagnostics, and end of life care.

As a mobile service, we have certain limitations compared to a full veterinary practice. We are unable to provide services that require specialist equipment or facilities, such as advanced diagnostics, general anaesthesia, or emergency surgery. In such cases, we will refer you to an appropriate practice.

We strongly encourage all clients to remain registered with, or register with, a brick and mortar veterinary practice alongside our service to ensure full continuity of care.

Appointments

Appointments are subject to availability and are confirmed by Vet in a Van following your registration or booking request. We will make every reasonable effort to honour confirmed appointments, but may need to reschedule in exceptional circumstances, in which case we will contact you as soon as possible.

Please ensure your pet is accessible and that a responsible adult aged 18 or over is present at the time of the appointment.

Fees and payment

Our current pricing is set out on our Services page. All prices include the home visit and travel within our operational area. Treatments, medications and diagnostic tests are not included in consultation fees unless stated otherwise, and any additional costs will be discussed with you during your appointment.

Payment is due at the time of the appointment unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to charge for missed or cancelled appointments in accordance with our cancellation policy below.

Cancellations

We ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

If we need to cancel an appointment, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer an alternative date at no additional charge.

Your responsibilities

By using our services, you confirm that:

  • You are the owner or have authority to consent to treatment on behalf of the animal
  • You will provide accurate and complete information about your pet's health and history
  • You will inform us of any behaviour that may pose a risk to our staff
  • You understand and accept our onward care procedure as described on the Register page

Liability

Vet in a Van will provide services with reasonable skill and care in accordance with current veterinary best practice. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, as veterinary treatment involves inherent uncertainties.

We are fully insured through the Veterinary Defence Society. Our liability to you shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific service in question, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our services.

Website use

The content on our website is provided for general information purposes only. While we make every effort to keep information accurate and up to date, we do not accept responsibility for any errors or omissions. Nothing on this website constitutes veterinary advice, and you should always contact a qualified vet if you are concerned about your pet's health.

Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
