About us

Katie, Vet in a Van

Hi, I am Katie, your Vet in a Van!

I have worked as a vet in South Wales for over five years. I believe an essential part of this special job is spending time with my patients and their owners, getting to know them and making them feel as comfortable as possible.

I soon learnt that for some patients, this was best achieved in the familiar environment of their own home. So I made it my mission to start a home visit service, making calm, personal care readily accessible across Wales and the South West.

I live in the Forest of Dean and love walking, running and cycling in my spare time. My family dog Harvey has joined the old man's club at the amazing age of 15 but still enjoys trotting along the river with an over-sized stick in his mouth. He can certainly vouch for Vet in a Van's services and the treat jar that never seems to be empty!

Hi, I am Max, co-owner of Vet in a Van!

I look after the behind the scenes side of Vet in a Van, working alongside my wife Katie to keep the business running so she can focus on what she does best, caring for your pets.

I grew up in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, on a small family holding with a dog, cat, sheep, pigs, chickens and bees, so animals and the land have always been part of my life. I studied a BSc in Agriculture and worked in organic farm certification before moving into environmental land management, which still keeps me close to farming and the countryside today.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me out running or cycling through the Wye Valley, the same hills and lanes I grew up exploring.
