About us

Hi, I'm Katie, your Vet in a Van!

I have worked as a vet in south Wales for over five years now. I believe an essential part of this special job is spending time with my patients and their owners, getting to know them and making them feel as comfortable as possible. I soon learnt that for some patients, this was in the familiar environment of their own home. So I made it my mission to start a home visit service, that made this calm, personal care readily accessible in Wales and the south west.

At Vet in a Van, we believe that every animal deserves access to veterinary care, no matter their owner’s circumstances. That’s why we plan to run weekly community outreach clinics, offering routine veterinary care on a ‘pay what you can’ basis. These clinics are designed to support pets and their people who need it most, helping to ensure no animal goes without the care they deserve. Making veterinary care accessible to all is at the heart of what we do.

About me!

I live in Monmouth and love walking, running and cycling in the Wye Valley in my spare time. My family dog, Harvey, has joined the old man's club at the amazing age of 15 years but still enjoys trotting along the river with an over-sized stick in his mouth! He can certainly vouch for Vet in a Van's services - he loves the treat jar that never seems to be empty!
